Civics 101 – Episode 61: The Attorney General

Each podcast episode of Civics 101 gives listeners a basic, non-partisan, topical reintroduction to how the U.S. government works. The history of the topic, as well as connections to current news events, is explored.
Episode 61: The Judiciary Act of 1789, one of the first laws passed by Congress, created the Office of an Attorney General. The Attorney General is both the chief law enforcement officer of the United States and the chief lawyer of the United States. What does it mean to be a lawyer for the U.S. government?
