Constitutional Convention 2

Summary: Students will understand the structure and function of the United States government established by the Constitution by participating in a “Constitutional Convention” in class.

Objectives:

Students will:

  • understand why  the U.S. needed a new government
  • understand how the Constitutional Convention evolved
  • understand how the delegates to the Convention resolve their differences of opinion through compromise (Focus on the Great Compromise and the 3/5 Compromise)
