Objectives -

  • Simulate the lawmaking process of the U.S. Congress
  • Given a national issue, balance competing interests to create a law
  • Make connections between a law’s text and the values it represents

Do your students want to make some laws? They can in LawCraft, where they will play a member of Congress from the state of their choice. They’ll pick an issue that’s important to them and their constituents and take it all the way through the law-making process. If they’re successful, they’ll have a bill they can print and show off!

The districts represented in this game were based on the most up to date information available at the time of development. Redistricting may have occurred in some states.
