Judicial Ice Breakers
Author: Justice Teaching
Two quick activities that can be used to introduce new materials to students in an engaging way. Each One Teach Many is an adaptation of Each One Teach One and is used to spread a group of facts quickly in a class. Judicial Bingo allows students to mingle as they discuss the qualities they feel are important in a judge. Although the lesson is directed toward the Florida courts, it is easily adaptable to other states.
- Students will get a quick introduction to new materials about either the Constitution or the judiciary.
- Students will engage in discussion about these materials to increase understanding.
Justice Teaching, an initiative of then Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice R. Fred Lewis, works to promote an understanding of Florida's justice system and our laws, develop critical thinking abilities and problem solving skills, and demonstrate the effective interaction of our courts within the constitutional structure.
