Students will evaluate what makes a good rule. The common “no weapons allowed” school rule is tested through a variety of scenarios. Students place themselves on a line to express their opinion regarding the application of the rule to the situation. Factors for evaluating rules are part of the lesson.
Objectives:
- Students will learn to evaluate what is necessary for a good rule.
- Students will deliberate on how to apply a rule to facts.
- Students will come to an opinion and defend it.
